Above the Ads. Above the Map. Get THe First Call
Google Guaranteed Spots Are Earned. We Earn Them for Pool Companies.
We made the opposite bet. Since 2012, Pool Profits has marketed pool service and construction companies and nothing else, and LSA is the channel where that shows fastest, because Google ranks these listings on the things an operator controls: review velocity, answer speed, and a profile kept honest. Two hundred companies later, we run all three as one system, dispute every junk lead inside the window, and manage your account to the only number a pay-per-lead channel should ever report: what a booked job cost after the credits came back.
Maximize Visibility In Local Search
The Highest Position on Google Is Not For Sale. It Is Earned.
Local Services Ads occupy the very top of the results page, above traditional ads, above the map pack, above everything, and they carry the one trust signal homeowners recognize instantly: the Google Guaranteed badge. Ready-now callers, the homeowner with the green pool and the party on Saturday, disproportionately call from these listings without scrolling further.
But LSA does not work like Google Ads. You cannot simply outbid your way to the top. Google ranks LSA listings on signals most pool companies never manage deliberately, which is why most sit in position four wondering why the phone is quiet while the company answering every call with a five-star profile eats the market.
How LSA Ranking Actually Works for Pool Companies
- Review score and volume: your Google reviews weigh heavily, which makes your review engine and your LSA rank the same project. A pool company adding steady five-star reviews climbs; a stagnant profile sinks regardless of budget.
- Responsiveness: LSA tracks how fast and how consistently you answer leads, and it demotes companies that let calls ring out. Answer speed is a ranking factor you control completely and most competitors ignore completely.
- Proximity: your location relative to the searcher matters, which makes accurate service area configuration a rankings decision, not a formality.
- Business hours: listed hours affect when you show and how Google reads your availability. Seasonal hours need managing, not setting once.
- Profile completeness and verification: licensing, insurance, services, and photos all feed the algorithm's confidence in showing you.
- Bid strategy: budget matters at the margins once the trust signals are in place, and almost never compensates when they are not.

Campaigns and follow-up systems designed around how route-based service businesses actually schedule, quote, and retain customers.
our acquisition system and your operations platform pulling in the same direction, with every lead tracked from first click to booked route.
What's Included
- Full profile setup and optimization: licensing, insurance, service categories, service areas, and photos configured for both badge approval and the ranking algorithm.
- Google Guaranteed verification management: shepherding the background check and documentation process so approval does not stall for months.
- Review strategy for LSA rank: the reputation engine and this channel managed as one system, because they are one system.
- Responsiveness architecture: calls route to whoever can actually pick up, and every miss triggers instant text-back through our automation, protecting the ranking signal LSA watches closest.
- Bid and budget management: weekly tuning by season and job type within LSA's constraints, with budget following the job types you want more of.
- Invalid lead disputes: wrong-service, out-of-area, and spam leads disputed on your behalf inside the window, with recovered credits returned to your budget. Most self-managed accounts never dispute anything and quietly overpay.
- Migration readiness: reporting history exported and archived before your account moves into Google Ads, settings documented, and the transfer verified when your wave arrives.
Pay Per Lead Sounds Safer Than It Is, Unless It Is Managed
Owners love the LSA promise: no clicks, just leads, pay only for real ones. The fine print is that Google decides what counts as a lead, charges for calls that were never your customer unless someone disputes them, and throttles visibility the moment response quality slips. Unmanaged, LSA quietly becomes an expensive voicemail bill. Managed, it is routinely the strongest cost-per-booked-job channel a pool company runs. The difference is entirely in the operating discipline: dispute hygiene, review velocity, and answer speed, week after week.
The cost question follows the same logic. LSA lead prices vary by market and job category, and the real number that matters is what you pay per valid lead after disputes, and per booked job after follow-up. We have seen dispute recovery alone change the economics of an account before a single other optimization, which is why it is standard in our management rather than an add-on.
The 2026 Migration: LSA Is Moving Into Google Ads
Google is retiring the standalone LSA dashboard. Beginning with a phased rollout in August 2026 and continuing in waves through 2027, Local Services Ads become a pay-per-lead campaign type inside the main Google Ads interface. Home services categories, pool companies included, sit in the early cohorts, and Google says advertisers get advance notice before their accounts move.
The mechanics pool companies care about survive the move: Search and Maps placements only, pay per valid lead, the Google Guaranteed badge, and the same ranking system built on reviews and responsiveness. Two things change materially. Budgets, settings, and creative transfer automatically, but historical performance reports do not, and for a seasonal business, losing years of month-by-month lead cost data means losing the baseline that intelligent budgets are set against. Export it before your migration notice arrives. Second, your Google Business Profile begins syncing into campaigns in real time, which means profile hygiene becomes ad spend hygiene. We published a full pool-industry migration analysis on the blog, and migration readiness is now standard work in every LSA engagement.
LSA and Search Are a System, Not a Choice
Local Services Ads capture the ready-now caller and charge per lead, but they give you almost no control over targeting nuance and none over messaging. Search campaigns give you full control and reach the searches LSA never shows for, but demand sharper management. Run together, they cover the whole top of the results page and hand each other data: LSA lead quality informs search bidding, and search query data sharpens the whole account. The migration into one console makes this unified approach the default structure rather than a coordination effort, which is an advantage for accounts already run that way and a hazard for accounts that were barely run at all.
Season changes the mix too. Spring startups, summer repairs, fall closings, and winter remodel research each get their own budget weighting, planned in advance rather than reacted to.
